On Tuesday, a full moon in steady Taurus will offer a moment of clear, illuminated feeling. This might bring offer sudden insight into what you really value. It might show you what’s worth holding onto and defending, and what you’re ready to leave behind.
This week, you might be presented with shortcuts, but think twice before taking them. What looks initially like an easy way out might not, in the end, be easy. It might not even be a way out at all. This doesn’t mean that you should always choose the most difficult path, or that there’s honor in making things hard for yourself—just that this isn’t a week to be swayed by the promise of shortcuts. You’re doing valuable work already; some things just take a long time to manifest.
If you’re seeking a specific feeling—love, or kindness, or the soft shimmering feeling of being truly seen—you might find yourself replaying situations from the past, trying to recreate the circumstances that brought that feeling into your life once before. This week, though, nostalgia may not feel satisfying. Remember that you don’t have to repeat the past, or chase after something you’ve lost. There’s sweet, surprising intimacy up ahead. There’s a chance to find something you hadn’t even known you were missing.
Even when you’re in constant motion, it can feel difficult to know where you’re headed. Even when your mind is most curious and alive, you might still find yourself troubled by doubts. What will everything you’re thinking and doing add up to? What, in the end, is the point? But even when you can’t see a finish line, even when you can’t discern a narrative arc, nothing you do is wasted. Your job this week is just to give in to your curiosity; eventually, the pattern you’re seeking will emerge.
Sometimes it’s possible to move through the world with an unselfconscious openness. Other times, however, it feels nearly impossible to stop scrutinizing every move you make, every word you speak, every conflict and relationship and desire. And when you look too hard for negative qualities in yourself, it becomes all too easy to find them. A certain amount of tough introspection can be valuable, of course, but it isn’t the only way to live right, or to prove your worth. Allow yourself softness and light, too.
If you aren’t careful this week, you could spend all your time trying to other people understand you. You could spend all your energy trying to clear up other people’s strange and wrong and bad ideas about you. Instead, make a conscious effort to refuse to waste even one second on anyone who engages with you in bad faith. Refuse to treat the world like a courtroom where you must constantly make your case, and treat it instead like the place of mystery and love that it is.
Not everybody is as committed to the world as you are; you’re uniquely attuned to the significance of the grounded, petty, everyday world. But it’s so easy, if you aren’t careful, for your commitment to the world to devour you. It’s so easy to start believing you owe everyone else the best of you—all your joy, or your labor, or the space inside your head. This is a week to return to yourself, if you’ve gotten lost along the way. Your body and energy and life belong to you.
This week, you might find yourself feeling that things will very soon fall into place. Sometimes this is a wonderful feeling—as though the world could come alive at any moment, revealing all its boundless mysteries—but sometimes, too, the waiting gets tiresome. Sometimes it grinds you down, this feeling that you’re always waiting, never arriving. This week, don’t give in to despair. The changes in your life might not be as clear and distinct as you’d like, but they’re happening all the same.
This week, you might have feelings you can’t explain, and whose roots you can’t trace. Don’t ignore these, or imagine them to be less valid or worthy than the ones that seem more linear. Your body’s wisdom can’t always be filtered through logic or expressed through words. Your body speaks its own silent language, and the more you pay attention to it, the better you’ll become at understanding what it’s trying to tell you. The more you use your instincts, the sharper they’ll become.
This week, you might feel as though you’re caught in a state of impossible, endless waiting—waiting for results, waiting for a message, waiting for conditions to become favorable enough that you can finally start to forge ahead. But even though restlessness might feel more natural to you, you’ll be rewarded if you can remember how to be patient. Patience doesn’t have to be a boring, passive state; it can be one of engaged observation, of alertness. There’s so much you can learn and see this week, even if you’re standing still.
This week, it’s possible to believe in evil without being scared. It’s possible to know that darkness is real without worrying that you’ll lose yourself in it. Other people might try to sugarcoat what they see, but not you. You’re brave enough to be honest – both about the bad things that exist, and the good things that are possible but not yet here. This is a week to lean into the belief that you’re capable of handling the days ahead of you, because you are, without a doubt.
Sometimes, you can find yourself focused on all the things you’re missing, all the little imperfections that prevent you from living the way you dream of. But you don’t need perfection to live a good and worthy life. You don’t have to wait to speak until you’re confident that nobody will question you; you don’t have to wait to love until you’re sure your friends can reciprocate in precisely the way you need. You don’t need to wait to start living until the conditions have become more favorable. You’re alive already, and you have the tools you need.
This week, if your life feels impossible—too difficult, too dull, too unconnected to what really matters—you can start considering new options. There are always other options available to you, but they’re easily obscured by life’s rules and routines. So this week, see what happens if you break some of them. You can act with wildness, if you want, or with a sense of caution and care, but either way, your disobedience can make new worlds possible.
