While many storefronts in New York City are still boarded up, there are plenty of opportunities to shop out in the Hamptons. Giorgio Armani, Todd Snyder, and Altuzarra all opened pop-ups there this summer. But if you’re still nervous about being inside, the fashion editor, designer, and red-carpet stylist Amanda Ross has a solution: “En Plein Air,” a curated, multi-brand outdoor shopping event taking place on July 29 and 30 at a private location in Bridgehampton. Ross described it as being like “a department store, outdoors.”
“Shopping is not just an activity for transactions,” she told the Cut. “We want to support independent designers during these complex times and create something joyous centered around the community. Think French farm stand in Provence.”
Face masks are required for entry (and available for purchase in cute prints), and customers will shop under spacious tents designed by Muriel Brandolini. Items, which range from headbands to house goods, will be organized thematically — preppy, bohemian, florals, etc. — and exclusive collections will be presented by small brands like Alicia Adams Alpaca, Carolina Irving & Daughters, Konstantin Kakanias, Muriel Brandolini, Dovima Paris, By Tatoufa, Marie-Hélène de Taillac, and ARossGirl, which is Ross’s own label.
If you miss the event, or just don’t want to leave the house, an exclusive selection of items will be available to shop online at arossgirl.com from August 1 to 7.
