If it’s the end of summer, it’s time for fall fashion ads. Nothing about this September is shaping up to be typical, but the campaigns are rolling out nonetheless, and some of them, like all good fashion images, have the ability to transport us to a different world.
Like the late-August weather, the Korean girl group BLACKPINK is so hot right now. Saint Laurent tapped group member Rosé for a campaign shot by David Sims. Alexander McQueen’s campaign was inspired by the warmth of Wales’ artistic heritage, featuring Sarah Burton’s collection — a love letter to women, families, colleagues, and friends — in the glow of golden hour. Louis Vuitton’s campaign was photographed by creative director Nicolas Ghesquière, in a first for the house. And Prada’s campaign, noting the current moment, is a call to action: It’s having an online auction in collaboration with Sotheby’s with proceeds being donated to benefit UNESCO educational projects.
