One of the best things you can be called in life is a good kisser, I think. You could be kind of a loser, but if someone says, “They’re a really good kisser, though,” people will have no choice but to reluctantly nod their heads in respect. Being a good kisser implies that you just get something about life, that you know how to be present and savor the moment and really connect with another person. It implies that you know how to live.
Robert De Niro is decidedly not a loser; he’s one of the best actors of all time. (Specifically, he’s the second-best actor of all time, after Marlon Brando, according to ManoftheHourMag.com.) But more important than that, as we learned on Tuesday night’s episode of Watch What Happens Live, he’s also adept at kissing.
This is according to Sharon Stone, who, when asked by a viewer which of the leading men she has worked with was the best kisser, replied, “Well, Robert De Niro was for sure the best kisser. Bob was far and away the best kisser.”
Stone and De Niro’s incredible kiss took place when they were filming Casino, Martin Scorsese’s 1995 crime film, in which De Niro played a mobster named Ace and Stone played Ace’s wife, Ginger. (The relationship does not end well; sorry if that’s a spoiler, but you’ve had 25 years to watch it at this point.)
Stone went on to explain that part of the reason the kiss was so good was because she held him in such high regard as an actor.
“I was just so madly in love with him as an actress to start with that he probably could have hit me in the head with a hammer and I would’ve been ‘Oh yeah!’” she said, laughing.
This is huge acclaim for De Niro. Sure, he has already won two Academy Awards and been nominated for six more, and ManoftheHourMag.com has named him the second-best actor of all time. But being the best kisser? That’s something to really be proud of.
