gone sale-ing

The 11 Best Beauty Deals at Sephora’s Big Sale

Photo: Retailer

Sephora has two huge beauty bonanza sales a year and one of them is upon us. Just in time for the gift-giving season, its Holiday Savings event has everything at 10 to 20 percent off. There are very, very few brand exclusions (for example, you can only buy one Dyson), so this sale is very good.

How much you save will depend on your Sephora rewards status. If you’re a Rouge member (a.k.a. the highest status), you’ll get 20 percent off. If you’re VIB, you’ll get 15 percent. Everyone else gets a decent 10 percent off. Either way, it’s a good time to stock up on things you’ve used up or to do some early holiday shopping. Use code HOLIDAYFUN through November 9 to save on brands like Chanel, Olaplex, Drunk Elephant, and more.

Sephora’s Best-Rated Lip Balm

My approach to Sephora sales is to seek out those brands that are never on sale, and Laneige is one of them. This was the week when people in NYC started turning on their heat, which also turns up the dryness in your skin. Your lips will love the thick yet not-greasy-at-all feeling of this much-adored lip balm, which easily soothes cracks and flakes. There’s also this set, which includes two extra mini-balms. —Kathleen Hou, beauty director

The Curly Girl Kit

This cute travel kit for curls is stocked with Bread’s wash-day essentials, plus the brand’s virtually perfect puff scrunchie, all housed in a convenient, clear zip purse. I plan on getting one of these for both of my sisters for the holidays, so I hope they’re not reading this right now. —Erica Smith, beauty writer

The Cutest Hand Cream

I think this is the only time and only place you’ll be able to find Chanel beauty on sale. This hand cream is a delight all around. Its ostrich egg–ish shape will appeal to design snobs, and it fits so nicely in your palm. —K.H.

If the hand cream is sold out, grab the body lotion.

The Very Good Skin-Care Deal

Drunk Elephant’s Protini moisturizer is a beauty go-to for many, including Strategist’s Rio Viera-Newton. This kit gives you a full-size tub, plus, for $7 extra, a whole bunch of miniature favorites.

The Toner Harry Styles Would Approve Of

This gently exfoliating toner is a nice pick-me-up for any skin-care routine. The bouncy formula feels heavenly on the skin, it leaves your face nice and hydrated after cleansing, and the herbal/fruity scent from the cucumber, cactus water, and watermelon extract is surprisingly uplifting. When I use it, I tend to wake up looking smoother and more glowy than the night before, which is probably the best pick-me-up of all. —E.S.

The Best-Rated Liquid Eyeliner

This eyeliner is so indelible, a fan once wrote a now-legendary review about how it stayed on through a car accident. —K.H.

Salad for Your Nails

All that hand-washing and hand-sanitizing have tried to come for my nails — not to mention the colder, drier weather. But this multitasking base coat, which hydrates, strengthens, and nourishes nails, has helped drastically cut down on peeling and breaking in a way that hair and nail gummies alone never could. —E.S.

The Hail Mary Hair Kit

If your hair is in need of some salvation or saving, it will appreciate this Olaplex kit. It includes the brand’s shampoo, conditioner, deep-conditioning hair “mask,” and its new smoothing cream. Try sleeping in the mask and then washing your hair in the morning. —.K.H.

The Mother of All Eye-Shadow Palettes

If you’re still wearing makeup above your mask, I commend you, and I’d like to remind you there’s no time like the impending holiday season to go big. With 18 matte and shimmery shades, this Mega Mothership palette is Pat McGrath’s biggest and possibly most beautiful one yet. Every high-impact shade looks so good on its own, it’s almost impossible to go wrong. —E.S.

The Quietest Hair Dryer

Now’s the time to buy this very fancy, very beloved, and very quiet hair dryer.
