One of my longtime favorite treats is the Champagne in a can made by director Sofia Coppola. I’m a sucker for the tiny pink cans with matching straws — they’re an easy way to make celebrations feel extra-special. Over the summer, I was excited to learn that Sofia’s extremely cool niece, filmmaker Gia Coppola, has her own line of wine as well. Coppola’s bottles are chic and adorable, with photos of fat cats and dreamy forest scenes taken by Coppola herself. And it’s not just the packaging that’s great — the wine itself is delicious.
While I’m a fan of all of the wines, the Orange, which was released this July, really stands out. It’s the first skin-contact wine from the Francis Ford Coppola Winery and was created by Coppola alongside female winemaker Jordan Costello. The end result is a light, hazy, funky taste with notes of kumquat and clove. Buy someone a few bottles so they can channel that summer feeling all winter long.
