Madame Clairevoyant: Horoscopes for the Week of February 1

On Thursday, love planet Venus enters unconventional Aquarius. This is an opportunity to re-evaluate what you need from your close relationships: If conventional expressions of love aren’t working, then you can say so. If mainstream visions of love leave you cold, you can search for something new, something brighter and fairer and freer.

Venus entering Aquarius also means that for the next two weeks, there will be a total of five planets in Aquarius (and next week, the moon will join for a couple days, too). While the sign of Aquarius is so dense with activity, expect Aquarian themes of idealism and independence to assert themselves in your life. Expect your attention to move away from the limitations of the past, and toward the wild possibilities of the future.

Weekly Horoscope Aries

Aries Weekly Horoscope

It’s very easy to put all your focus on the gap between the world as it exists and the world as it should be, the gap between what you’ve been given and what you deserve. It’s maddening to have this kind of clarity, maddening to feel haunted by an unrealized vision. But you hold onto this clarity, if you dream bigger than you have any right to, that’s where the magic begins. That’s when the world starts to shift around you — to glimmer with true, honest possibility.

Weekly Horoscope Taurus

Taurus Weekly Horoscope

Lately, you’ve been asked to adapt to far too much change, and to do it far too quickly. You’ve been asked to reinvent your whole worldview again and again. Although sometimes surprises bring sweetness, sometimes they only bring work. So this week, rather than continuing to build new structures all the time, it’s okay to use the ones that already exist. You don’t need to start over from scratch in order to move forward — you can just move from where you are.

Weekly Horoscope Gemini

Gemini Weekly Horoscope

This week, you might find yourself getting so tired of all this heaviness and seriousness and pain. Eventually, things will become light again — the world will be joyful, sweet, even fun — but lately, it’s been hard to see past the present. This week, though, you can catch glimpses of the world as it should be, the world you’re working towards. This week, just on the horizon, you can see all the goodness you’ve ever dreamed of. It’s happening so slowly, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t happening.

Weekly Horoscope Cancer

Cancer Weekly Horoscope

This week, you might just feel dissatisfied — frustrated with the slow progress you’ve made on your projects, or with the state of your relationships, or with the uneven shape of your life. But feelings of dissatisfaction can actually be quite helpful. Dissatisfaction isn’t necessarily a sign that you should rush to change your life. Right now, it can function like a guidepost, a clue, a map: It can show you what you really want, what direction you should be moving in. Just pay attention to your desires — for yourself, and for the world — and let them guide you.

Weekly Horoscope Leo

Leo Weekly Horoscope

This week, you might feel surprisingly reluctant to stand under the spotlight, surprisingly anxious about being watched too closely or too much. Luckily, this doesn’t mean you have to resign yourself to isolation or boredom, to give up your need for human connection. All it means is that you can free yourself, at least for now, from your obligation to perform for others, to be a hero, a role model, a star. There’s a greater satisfaction, this week, in being one person among many, part of a joyful collective.

Weekly Horoscope Virgo

Virgo Weekly Horoscope

There’s magic waiting for you up ahead, there’s sweetness on the way, and this week, your job is to make sure that your frustration and resentment don’t eat you alive before the good things have time to get here. While it’s possible, in emergencies, to run on fury alone, eventually that rage will burn straight through you. So this week, offer yourself softness and rest when you can. Protecting your heart is no minor task — the world is so full of deprivation, of isolation, of anger — but in the end, you won’t have done it for nothing.

Weekly Horoscope Libra

Libra Weekly Horoscope

This week you might feel your powers tested, your strength challenged. This is a good thing, although it might not sound like it. It’s a chance to stretch your legs, a chance to use your muscles, a chance to be reminded that you’re capable and wise. If you rise to this week’s challenges, you’ll be rewarded for it. Any energy you put out will come back to you, doubled. You can trust in your own magic; you have plenty of it. And in case you’ve forgotten, in case you’ve started to doubt yourself, this week will reassure you.

Weekly Horoscope Scorpio

Scorpio Weekly Horoscope

This week, you might feel a strong desire to reassert yourself — to prove that you’re still strange, still brilliant, still here. It isn’t that you’re hungry for recognition, only that in this long season of loss, you need confirmation that at least you haven’t lost yourself. So this week, it might be useful to make some noise, to remind yourself that your throat still works. It might be useful to call on your friends, to remind yourself they can still see you. Invisibility has its uses, but sometimes it’s better to be loudly, undeniably present.

Weekly Horoscope Sagittarius

Sagittarius Weekly Horoscope

You’ve felt so much anxiety, lately, that you’re just not doing enough — not enough for the world, not enough for the people you love, and not even enough to stay afloat in your own life. In times of large-scale change, it’s hard not to fear that you should have lived better. It’s hard not to worry that when you were choosing skills and experiences, you chose wrong. But this week can reassure you that you did right after all, that you followed your own path. You don’t have to know everything; the wisdom and tools you’ve collected are enough to carry you onward.

Weekly Horoscope Capricorn

Capricorn Weekly Horoscope

This week, the simple truth is that there’s no way to give real care if you’re unwilling to receive it, too. There’s no way to protect the ones you love if you’re unwilling to let them protect you, too. Sometimes, it’s tempting to believe that you can hold yourself apart from it all — that you can retreat behind walls, retreat to the mountains, retreat to a tower where no one can find you. But this week, love asks you to let yourself be seen. It asks you to leave your isolation, if only for a moment, and seek reciprocity instead.

Weekly Horoscope Aquarius

Aquarius Weekly Horoscope

This week will remind you that your possibilities haven’t dried up after all, that your energy hasn’t abandoned you, that the future you dream of hasn’t been ruled out. The challenge is that real possibility asks so much of you. Hopelessness is, if not easy, then at least predictable. Possibility, though, demands that you show up, that you engage, that you open your life to other people. It requires conflict and decisions. It asks you not to save your ideas, but to use them. This week, as much as you can, choose action over stasis; you’ll be rewarded for it if you do.

Weekly Horoscope Pisces

Pisces Weekly Horoscope

Typically, you aren’t someone who needs to know exactly what the future will hold: You’re comfortable with the world’s mutability and motion. Lately, though, you’ve been badly in need of some small certainty, badly in need of reassurance that at least there will be a future for you. This week, though you might not feel the total clarity you’re looking for, there are some things you can be certain of: that your heart is good, and that the world needs you very much. It’s not a lot, but it’s true.
