Anya Taylor-Joy has always been a good dresser, but it seems she wanted to take things to the next level this evening when she arrived at the Golden Globes wearing custom Dior couture and 1 million dollars worth of Tiffany diamonds. The actor netted two nominations: Best Actress in a Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy) for Autumn De Wilde’s Emma., and best actress in the The Queen’s Gambit for her role as a drug-addicted chess prodigy. She won for the latter, taking home her first major acting award.
And she certainly dressed for a victory, wearing what appeared to be a thick, silk kimono over a plunging, crystal-covered gown. The mastermind behind the look is the great Law Roach, late of Malcolm & Marie, who has worked with Taylor-Joy before and has previously styled Celine Dion, Ariana Grande, and Zendaya:
In spite of the mostly virtual ceremony, a lot of celebs went full red carpet, but Taylor-Joy and her mane of platinum Jessica Rabbit hair, strutting about in emerald green couture took my breath away.
