The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has partnered with the job-search platform Creatively on an initiative designed to empower, connect, and nurture Black and brown individuals within the fashion industry. Called IMPACT, it’s a new talent directory created to bring together the CFDA community of members, industry professionals, and partners and to offer greater opportunity to those who are often overlooked and underrepresented in the field.

The IMPACT Black advisory board includes industry leaders such as Bozoma Saint John, Netflix’s chief marketing officer, Tod’s Group’s Stacie Henderson, CFDA member Martin Cooper, Samira Nasr, editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar, and fashion designer Tracy Reese. This board of pioneers has been instrumental in the development of the IMPACT program and the strengthening of CFDA’s overall approach to expanding diversity within the fashion industry. Some of the opportunities that will be put into effect include mentoring, community building, and industry programming.

CFDA’s IMPACT has also partnered with brands such as alice + olivia, Rag & Bone, SKIMS, and Veronica Beard to further accountability for brands that share the mission of bolstering Black and brown creatives. To learn more about the work being done by IMPACT, visit its website.
