Thanks to rainy April, raindrops keep falling on my head. But thanks to Jin Soon, flowers keep dancing on my fingers. I really enjoy the whimsy of this new top coat, created by celebrity manicurist Jin Soon Choi, which contains little bits of floral “confetti” suspended in a clear polish. Although it’s technically meant to go over other nail polish, acting like a garnish of sorts, I like it on my bare nails. It’s poppy, it’s fun, and it’s sort of like eating a bunch of fried appetizers for a full meal just because you can. Looking at my nails, it offers the sort of gleeful feeling of dumping rainbow-star confetti over a freshly iced cake. Also, unlike regular nail polish, this fancy top coat lasts a really long time, and chips aren’t noticeable. It’s cute and happy, and exactly the sort of small delight that I need right now.
