A Very Good Collaboration That’s About to Drop

Christopher John Rogers is a force to be reckoned with. Known for his exuberant collections, he won the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award in 2019 and the 2020 CFDA Award for American Emerging Designer of the Year. He is a semifinalist for this year’s LVMH Prize. He dressed Vice-President Kamala Harris for her inauguration in January. And this Sunday, for the first time ever, his clothes will be available at Target.

Target’s Designer Dress Collection debuted last year with limited-edition designs from Cushnie, Lisa Marie Fernandez, and LoveShackFancy. This time around, it will feature more than 70 dresses from Rogers as well as Alexis and RIXO. Sizes range from XXS to 4X, and nothing is over $60.

“For more than 20 years, Target has partnered with some of the biggest names in the industry and had the opportunity to introduce our guests to emerging designers who are shaping fashion and culture today,” said Jill Sando, executive vice-president and chief merchandising officer of Target, in a statement. “With this spring collection, we’re celebrating three incredibly talented and diverse designers, all while creating our most size-inclusive collection of original, quality dresses that we know our guests will love.”

The entire Designer Dress Collection drops on Target.com and the Target app this Sunday at 3 a.m. ET, while the IRL selection will vary by store. There will be purchase limits of five pieces per size and/or color per transaction, presumably to keep people from hoarding and reselling on eBay. Scroll down for a sneak peek at the offerings — this one is going to sell out.
