Thanks to her role on WandaVision (and a lot of wigs), we’ve seen Elizabeth Olsen wear so many haircuts in a short amount of time — short and curly, really long and straight, really long and teased, medium-length and modeled after “The Rachel,” extremely red. We had yet to see Olsen in a super-glam, wavy bob, and that’s what she debuted at last night’s 2021 Emmys.
Before Olsen hit the red carpet, hairstylist Adir Abergel chopped the nominee’s long hair and grown-out curtain bangs into what he accurately describes as, “the perfect length bob.” You can fall in love with every angle in the clip he posted, below. It’s already soundtracked by the romantic slow-dance song from Disney’s “Cinderella,” for your convenience.
It was the dress Olsen’s two older sisters made for her to wear to the Emmys that inspired Abergel to create the new look. “I was immediately in love with the shape of her dress and wanted to create a similar silhouette with the hair,” Abergel said in a release. He also pulled images of Lauren Bacall and Grace Kelly, and injected the throwback photos “with references of minimalism to make sure the look felt modern.”
To style Olsen’s new hair silhouette, Abergel created that impressively deep Old Hollywood side part with a ghd Paddle Brush, and dried her hair smooth from root to tip using the ghd Helios Professional Hair Dryer. Next, he carefully created waves to add movement, and tucked the ends of the hair under using the ghd Curve Classic Curl iron. To complete the look, Abergel simply applied a dime size amount of frizz cream for extra shine. Paired with some diamond earrings, a full face Chanel products applied by Pati Dubroff and a gown from the Row.
