Horny new Netflix content on the horizon: Bridgerton season two returns in 2022, per a teaser that dropped on Saturday. Please enjoy this first look at the series’ central couple, Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley), who apparently get all revved up via … bickering. Regency London’s marriage market is open once again:
What do we learn from this clip? One, that Anthony, the eldest Bridgerton and one of the season’s two main characters, needs his future wife to tick an unreasonable number of boxes despite his previously stated intention to “remove love from the equation” and just pick a wife, any wife. Two, that the spark in this central relationship will probably come from sparring: “I take issue with any man who views women merely as chattels and breeding stock,” Kate scolds Anthony, who was (in her words) rattling off his “many requirements for a wife, loud enough for the entire party to hear.” Three, that the viscount maybe isn’t very good at riding a horse. Hmm! Does he have other, sexier skills to bring to the table à la the Hot Duke romancing a silver spoon? Also, what the hell happened to his signature sideburns of season one?? Answers to all these questions and more are to be revealed sometime next year. Stay tuned.
