19 Things on Sale You’ll Actually Want to Buy: From Goodee to Giorgio Armani

You may have noticed some posts from our friends at the Strategist on the Cut. They’ll be dropping in every now and again, sharing their expertise on the basics you don’t have time to research and the weird and wonderful things you don’t yet know you need.

As the weather cools down, fall sales are heating up: Across the internet’s sales bins this Friday, we’ve found lots of excellent deals on things we’ve written about before. That includes some reusable, rip-resistant bags for schlepping groceries, a celebrity-favorite alcohol-free toner for smoother, brighter skin, and the “holy grail” of lightweight foundation. (And if you want even more deals sent straight to your inbox, sign up for our email newsletter.)

Makeup artist Daniel Martin told us he relies on Olly’s melatonin gummies for sleeping while traveling. He particularly likes their easy-to-digest, low-sugar formula — and these on-sale ones have Vitamin C for added immunity support.

Formulated with cooling, alcohol-free witch hazel, soothing rose water, and calming aloe vera, this toner is what Strategist contributor Katheryn Erickson reaches for “whenever my skin is feeling angsty or needs a break from the harsh stuff.” Actress Kat Dennings loves it too.

When I asked my colleague Chloe Anello if she’d bought anything on sale recently, she responded with these wheat-free dog treats, purchased for her dog, Rudy. “He just loves them,” she writes. “He’s super-small, so I can break them up and then he gets two treats instead of just one.”

Tell your friends you bought these earthenware mugs at a craft fair upstate.

If you’ve yet to upgrade your work-from-home station, here’s a truly excellent deal on a wooden writing desk. It has two spacious drawers and a sleek, stylish metal frame that’s easy to move from room to room (or apartment to apartment).

We spotted lots of Reformation pieces on sale over at Nordstrom, like this lined linen wrap skirt. While it’s technically a summer style, we think it would look exceptionally good paired with an oversize sweater and black boots.

This little floor–slash–meditation cushion from Goodee is made from hand-spun, hand-woven, and hand-dyed cotton. It’s also on sale in a coordinating navy stripe print, too.

Lots of Armani Beauty products are also 15 percent off over at Nordstrom, including the brand’s buildable (and best-selling) foundation. One makeup artist told us it’s the “holy grail of foundations for all skin types” and “creates a radiant glow without a greasy finish.”

Nordstrom Rack’s sale bins are also stocked up, and just so happen to include these 70 percent-off sunglasses from Karen Walker. We think the cheery tangerine color gives them a sort of ’80s, Princess Diana–esque flair.

Through Sunday, September 26, Entireworld is taking 50 percent off everything (yes, everything) with code HALFSIES. Model and actor Miles Garber told us that both the sweatshirt and matching sweatpants (below) have a good amount of structure, “so you don’t look like you’re just schlepping around,” and that their unexpected color palette and not-too-relaxed fit set them apart from other matching pairs on the market.

Here are those matching sweatpants, now available for less than $50.

If you’d like to get a head start on holiday shopping this year, this top-rated wiggle car is suitable for children age 3 and older and can be used both indoors and out.

J.Crew is taking 30 percent off almost everything on its site with code MOREFALL. (And if you spend $250 or more, that discount jumps up to 40 percent.) We’d put the deal toward this cotton-corduroy chore jacket, which is still in stock in sizes XS to XXL.

You can also save $35 on this puff-sleeve alpaca-blend sweater. It has a slight crop for a more modern, less-fussy fit and comes in cream, ruby, pink, and the heather tan shown.

Coach Outlet is taking an extra 15 percent off markdowns and offering free shipping with code FRIENDS15. That would include this zip-top, fabric-lined shoulder bag, which reviewers say is the “perfect” size for carrying daily essentials, from notebooks to water bottles.

Fenty Beauty is taking 25 percent off nearly sitewide as part of the brand’s Fam Sale, and there’s no code required. Strategist beauty columnist Rio Viera-Newton particularly likes the brand’s cream bronzer, which is “easy to buff seamlessly into the skin for an all-over warmth or a more chiseled contour. “

According to Rio, these cream blushes have a dewy, blendable formula and a beautiful high pigment. Her favorite shades are “Strawberry Drip,” a bright coral pink, and “Petal Poppin,” a soft dusty rose.

And finally, this mid-century-inspired bench would spruce up just about any entryway (or bedroom). Snag it in black, gray, antique gray, or the antique brown shown.

The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best acne treatments, rolling luggage, pillows for side sleepers, natural anxiety remedies, and bath towels. We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.
