Who Does Paris Fashion Week Better Than Cardi B?

We thought Cardi B’s archival Mugler looks at the start of Paris Fashion Week attending Thierry Mugler’s exhibit were stunners, but it turns out she was just getting started. She might’ve missed the Met Gala, but she’s been making up for it all throughout Paris Fashion Week. Cardi and her longtime stylist, Kollin Carter, are not afraid to push the limits and play with a little camp.

Here’s every look she’s worn so far in Paris, from her extra-spiky Richard Quinn leather jacket to her gold-plated plaid Schiaparelli blazer paired with a matching helmet. Yes, a helmet.

Kollin Carter dubbed her the “rich auntie from Mars” in this look. The gold sculptured headpiece was not the only piece of gold on Cardi for the day; she also wore an overlay of gold detailed chains and a hand full of gold-tooth rings. Her Schiaparelli tweed plaid blazer also had gold-plated breastplates.

Matrix or Fashion?

These miniature shades remind us of The Matrix. For a visit to Balenciaga’s offices, Cardi wore a calf-length Richard Quinn leather jacket with arm spikes, chunky Rick Owens boots, and a Chrome Hearts conductor-style hat.

If Cardi’s song “Press” were a look, it would be this Balenciaga trench with tabloid-magazine covers printed on the fabric.

Cardi knows how to make a viral moment with Richard Quinn; in 2019, she dressed in a head-to-toe floral Richard Quinn piece. This week, she wore a look just shown on the spring runway. Her finger waves peeking from underneath the matching hood was the perfect accessory to top the look.

Cardi wore another straight-off-the-runway look from Richard Quinn on Sunday night. The headband, humped hairstyle, and retro sunglasses remind us of the ’60s, but the curve-hugging ruching and statement necklace feel so Cardi in 2021.
