It’s Already Time for Holiday Windows

If you feel like the holiday season is starting earlier than usual, don’t worry, you’re not crazy — it is. Halloween hasn’t even happened yet, but retailers are already starting to think about gift guides and holiday windows. There are possibly some good reasons for this: With more people shopping online now, and the global supply chain all messed up, consumers want to make their list and check it twice before it’s too late. Personally, I’ve already gotten most of my big gifts sorted so that they arrive in time. But I’m also a shopaholic. That’s the other thing: Buying and giving gifts (for yourself, and others, of course) feels good, and people are definitely craving some cheer.

On that note, if you were to walk down Fifth Avenue today, you’d see Prada’s new holiday collection on full display in the windows of Bergdorf Goodman. They feature full-size videos as a backdrop, with mannequins dripping in sequins, crystals, studs, and Lurex with a metallic sheen — perfect for any holiday parties you have lined up.

The Prada holiday collection will be on display through November 1, after which Bergdorf Goodman’s annual holiday windows will be installed. Fifth Avenue’s shiny transformation has only just begun.
