Good Costume, Steve Buscemi

Halloween is over, which means you can officially rid your psyche of all things Yandy for the next 11 months. In an attempt to un-sear Mitt Romney’s haunting Ted Lasso mustache from my brain, I am meditating this morning on Steve Buscemi’s very good costume, which I recommend you take a moment to appreciate before you turn to your Mariah Carey Christmas garb.

Buscemi, who is apparently most known by young people for a meme about old people trying unsuccessfully to be young, took this information in stride by dressing up as that very meme to hand out candy near his Park Slope home. In case your ancient rotting brain has forgotten the source material:

The actor was recognized by a bunch of 13-year-olds, whom he graciously took some photos with despite the fact that they know him as a sentient meme and not a Hollywood legend with a watercoloring hobby. (To her credit, the teen who took the selfie recognized him from Miracle Workers. I am convinced she is an outlier, but moving on.)

Unfortunately, I fear Buscemi has opened up a dark wormhole of sexy “fellow kids” costumes, but luckily we won’t have to deal with that until 2022. In the meantime, merry Christmas!
