Who Would Want to Give Birth Once a Week?

If there’s one thing about celebrities, it’s that they will really just say any combination of words that come into their heads. Take, Gal Gadot, for example. In a recent interview with InStyle, she talked about her career as well as being a mother of three. She spoke of motherhood mostly as you’d expect, saying it’s “no joke” and “so much work.” I’m sure many of us, regardless of parental status, would agree. Here is where the similarities end.

She went on to talk about how much she adores … childbirth. “I love giving birth,” Gadot said. “I would do it once a week if I could. It’s so magical.” Haha, no! There are so few things involving physical labor — let alone literal labor — I would happily do once a week. Maybe take a brisk walk? Carry my overstuffed laundry basket to and from the wash? I would not put “having a whole entire baby” high on my list of weekly to-dos.

If it’s any consolation, Gadot said she has used epidurals during her births, “so it’s not so painful.” Hmm, weekly birth is still going to be a no for me. But wait! As a treat, she gave us all a sliver of relatability, admitting that “the pregnancies are hard.” So there you have it: Childbirth is miraculous and a fun activity to partake in three, even four times a month, but it is also very difficult.

Speaking of babies, Gadot also talked about a different baby of sorts: her brainchild, her opus, that “Imagine” video. In hindsight, she says it was poorly timed. “It wasn’t the right thing. It was in poor taste,” she said. “All pure intentions, but sometimes you don’t hit the bull’s-eye, right?” … Right.
