Ina Garten: woman of the people, Glossier girl, and, now more than ever, lover of Cosmos. You may recall the iconically large Cosmopolitan that Garten made at 9:30 a.m. all the way back in 2020. Well, her devotion to this particular cocktail has not faltered, judging by the fact that just days ago, she made blood-orange Cosmos (!!) during a snowstorm. Behold:

It pains me to admit I have never tried a Cosmopolitan, and, frankly, its ingredients (vodka, cranberry juice, triple sec, and lime) sound like a glorified vodka-cranberry. But Garten herself appears to be single-handedly making sure the Cosmo survives past its early-aughts glory days, and she has no plans to let up on her love affair with Carrie Bradshaw’s favorite drink. She indicated as much on Reese Witherspoon’s Instagram, on which Witherspoon posted some goals she had for the coming months: drinking lots of water, at least half an hour of reading every day, and getting into bed by 10 p.m. No offense to Witherspoon and her cute black Lab, but these goals are a snooze.

Garten certainly agrees. In response to Witherspoon’s rigorous self-improvement plan, the Barefoot Contessa herself used the comments section to outline a few habits she’s been practicing: drinking more giant Cosmos (naturally), staying up late watching TV, and playing Sudoku. This sounds less like a “routine” than a remake of Under the Tuscan Sun I would very much like to watch, but no matter: Garten is one of the rare celebrities that seem to have a grasp on where we’re all at these days — which is quite the feat for a woman with a $15,000 stove.

Whether or not Garten will be sharing more batch-cocktail-for-one recipes remains to be seen, but if I were you, I would invest in a giant martini glass right now just in case. And maybe download a free Sudoku app too. You never know when giant-cocktail hour will strike.
