22 Things on Sale You’ll Actually Want to Buy: From Samsonite to Studs

You may have noticed some posts from our friends at the Strategist on the Cut. They’ll be dropping in every now and again, sharing their expertise on the basics you don’t have time to research and the weird and wonderful things you don’t yet know you need.

The state of sales is excellent as we close out this short week with lots of seasonal discounts on things we’ve written about before. There’s a TSA-approved suitcase (with a handy USB port), our favorite lounge shorts for men, and the Shiatsu massager one editor says is “better than my boyfriend.” As always, if you want even more deals sent straight to your inbox, sign up for our email newsletter.

Even though it’s the middle of winter, we wouldn’t dare miss a sale on Patagonia Baggies — the unisex lounge shorts of choice among several stylish men for their breathable fit and roomy pockets.

Use this little Le Creuset cocotte for perfectly portioned pot pies, cobblers, and everything in between.

These cozy Steve Madden slippers are lined with plush faux shearling and have a thick, grippy sole — perfect for grabbing the mail or letting the dog out on extra-chilly mornings.

Made from lightweight, sweat-wicking material, these Nike pants are styled with sporty (and practical) zip pockets and a flattering tapered fit.

A dishwasher-safe acacia-wood cutting board that’s pretty enough for serving.

Already affordable jewelry brand Studs just added lots of new earrings to its sale section including these chunky rhodium-plated hoops. (They’re also on sale in 14-karat-gold plate.)

Maybe she’s barn with it.

Former Strategist editor Casey Lewis says this Shiatsu massager “works out knots in my back better than my boyfriend can.” (It’s a longtime reader favorite too.) For a limited time, it’s an extra 10 percent off at Amazon with the on-page coupon.

Writer Liza Corsillo called this cast-iron skillet the best thing she bought in the entire past decade: “I use it every day, would buy it over and over again, and enthusiastically recommend it to everyone I know,” she wrote. “Like a good leather jacket, if you treat your Lodge skillet well, it will continue to mature and get better with age.”

Today through Monday, ColourPop is taking 30 percent off sitewide. While you can’t go wrong with any of the brand’s cosmetics, this Blur Lux lipstick is a favorite of Strategist beauty columnist Rio Viera-Newton. She says it offers a “your-lips-but-better, sheer matte look … exactly the kind of product you’re going to want in your bag at all times.”

According to Rio, this pearl-pink shadow gives off a “super-buildable, subtle-but-beautifully prismatic shimmer.” It’s also a convincing dupe for Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s $29 favorite.

Select bras from Cuup — one of our go-to brands for boobs big and small — are just $50 through January 28. If you aren’t sure where to start, the mesh Plunge Bra is a favorite of Strategist writer Chloe Anello. “The cups mold to your boobs and feel like you’ve barely got anything on,” she says, adding that the style offers “lots of support despite how thin it feels.”

The sale also includes Cuup’s thongs, bikinis, and high-rise briefs. They’re a favorite of stylist Bryn Taylor, who calls the fabric “next-level in terms of aesthetics and feel.”

In case you missed it, Golde is taking 15 percent off sitewide until Saturday — including its rarely on-sale matcha. Former Strategist intern Aisha Rickford describes the flavor as “bright, vibrant, and rich,” adding that it’s flavorful enough to drink on its own or mixed into a latte.

Whether or not you’re traveling anytime soon, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to pick up this deeply discounted Samsonite suitcase for your next trip. It features a TSA-approved lock, 360-degree dual spinner wheels, and a handy USB port for your portable battery pack.

Ganni is taking an extra 10 percent off all sale items with code EXTRA10, including this striped unisex beanie made from an extra-warm blend of merino wool and cashmere.

Reviewers say this touch-free soap dispenser from long-lasting, good-looking kitchenware brand Simplehuman is easy to use, easy to charge, and dispenses the “perfect amount of soap.” For a limited time, it’s $20 off — the cheapest we’ve seen it since Black Friday.

End Clothing just added lots of new discounts to its sale section, as well, including these trippy printed pants from cult climbing brand Gramicci. The matching shorts are on sale, too.

Reebok’s ’90s-era beatnik sandals have slowly been making a comeback following last year’s Story MFG collaboration. This pair is still in stock in men’s sizes U.K. 6 to 12 (or U.S. 7 to 13).

This vintage-inspired (and useful) Casio watch would make a thoughtful Valentine’s Day gift for just about any boyfriend.

This dental floss has been recommended to us by several dentists for its soft, textured thread, antimicrobial coconut oil coating, and effective plaque removal. Through the end of today, the brand’s entire Essentials Collection — including this floss and refill set — is 21 percent off with code BRIGHT.

Finally, if you’re looking for a new work bag to kick off the new year, this one from Kate Spade has both a top handle and a crossbody strap for easy carrying. It’s on sale in cherry red, saddle brown, and the black shown.

The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best acne treatments, rolling luggage, pillows for side sleepers, natural anxiety remedies, and bath towels. We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.
