It’s the best of both worlds: American fashion Michael Kors has teamed up with Italian sportswear brand Ellesse. Also joining them are a cast of sporty characters and their toned abs, including Emily Ratajkowski and rapper Jay Critch, shot by Lachlan Bailey and styled by Mel Ottenberg.
What is the collab giving?
The retro-inspired capsule collection features 24 pieces that would look just as good on and off the courts. Mix and match T-shirts, track pants, jackets, rubber slides, and white sneakers. The capsule includes a canvas cross-body bag and a backpack featuring both brands’ modified logos and Ellesse’s signature shades of orange. Prices start at $68 for a cropped logo tee and go up as high as $498 for a monogrammed backpack.
Why should I care?
Neither brand is new to the collab world. Kors has worked with Ashya, and Ellesse is fresh off a collab with Patta. However, the vintage, sporty aspect and color scheme are pretty unique for both. And the collection falls perfectly between Kors’s RTW and Ellesse’s sporty aesthetic. It’s also a fraction of the cost of the RTW collection and pretty cute.
