Congratulations to Luna and Miles on becoming a big sister and brother once more. Oh, and congrats to their parents, too. John Legend and Chrissy Teigen welcomed a new baby on January 13. “She’s here! Esti Maxine Stevens,” Teigen announced in an Instagram post on Thursday, accompanied by a photo of the couple’s elder children holding their new sister. “The house is bustling and our family could not be happier.”
The couple’s newest addition comes a little over two years after Teigen suffered a pregnancy loss of their baby, Jack. Legend first announced their baby’s arrival at a private concert last week, per People, telling the audience that Teigen had given birth to “the little baby this morning.” Calling it a “blessed day,” Legend then told the audience that he “didn’t get a lot of sleep” but “feels energized.”
Teigen announced her most recent pregnancy in August of last year, telling fans on Instagram that she was “feeling hopeful and amazing.” Ever since, she’s kept the public updated on her pregnancy, telling People it would be “the longest pregnancy” for Luna and Miles because they watched her go through IVF. “They knew that I was going in for the transfer, that we were going to go in and put this egg inside Mommy’s belly,” she said. “So they knew from the very, very beginning.” Shortly before giving birth, Teigen picked the brains of her Twitter followers, asking if she should wax “down there” to “do the doctors a solid” before going into labor or having a C-section. (The answer, according to Dr. Jennifer Gunter, is a very definitive no.)
“Daddy sheds nightly tears of joy seeing Luna and Miles so full of love, and I am learning you still need diapers with a c-section?!” Teigen’s Instagram statement continued, adding that the family is “in bliss” following Esti’s arrival. Wishing Teigen a speedy recovery, and congratulations to the whole family!
