I can’t believe we even have to say this, but Leonardo DiCaprio is not currently dating a teenager. Okay, yes, he has dated a 19-year-old in the past, but he was younger then (43). He’s 48 now! Honestly, it’s like every time he sits next to a woman under the age of 25 or talks to her or takes her to the mall, people assume the worst — that he is a gross old lech. Today, for example, the Daily Mail reported that Leo might be seeing a 19-year-old model named Eden Polani, and for some reason, many readers just accepted that as plausible, predictable, and probably true, which — rude! Leo is single. He has been so since breaking up with his last girlfriend shortly after she turned 25.
Although the Oscar winner has recently been seen hitting the clubs with the 23-year-old daughter of a soap star, that may be casual — if it is anything at all: A source supposedly close to Leo told TMZ that he is not seriously dating anyone right now. As for Polani, this unnamed individual said she and Leo were simply seated next to each other at a record-release party — purely a coincidence. “Our source makes it clear,” the tabloid notes, “just because Leo might be talking to or sitting with a girl doesn’t mean he’s dating her.”
Sure, everyone likes to make a fuss about how this nearly 50-year-old man only dates women less than half his age, but is that fair? He met his most recent ex, Camila Morrone, when she was 20. Just before that, he was spotted dining, strolling, and partying with models ranging from 19 (fine) to 20, 23, 25, even 27 years old! And what? Did you not see the spate of recent headlines attempting to fling Leo together with mature single mom Gigi Hadid, who will be 28 in April?? He’s clearly growing up. Maybe one day his girlfriends will too.
