Rihanna’s Baby Already Has His First Vogue Cover

Of course Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s baby knows how to pose. The baby boy, whose name is still unknown, is the star of British Vogue’s March cover, along with his parents. In the cover shot, the baby laughs in Rocky’s arms as the family walks along the beach dressed in all black. Another photo shows the baby looking straight at the camera, undoubtedly smizing.

The cover comes three days after Rihanna revealed that she is pregnant with her second child during her Super Bowl halftime show, her first live performance in years.

In the accompanying piece, Rihanna described motherhood as “legendary,” saying, “It’s everything. You really don’t remember life before, that’s the craziest thing ever.” Delivering her son was “beautiful” and she felt “blessed,” and the first days of parenthood were “insane,” she said.

“You’re just going through the motions,” she said. “And even then you’re so paranoid. Because you’re like: They trusted us to come home with this baby? This new life? With us?”

The singer also addressed something that people have been wondering for months: Why, after previously declining to perform at the Super Bowl in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick and in protest against racial injustice and police brutality, she decided to do it this year.

“There’s still a lot of mending to be done in my eyes,” she told Vogue. “But it’s powerful to break those doors, and have representation at such a high, high level and a consistent level.” Becoming the mother to a Black son also played a part. “It’s this knowing that you can do anything,” she explains, “even things that seem the craziest, like, ‘I’m going to say yes to the Super Bowl in the middle of postpartum? What the heck am I thinking? But you’re geeked on a challenge like that because you know what your body just did. You feel this sense of ‘Nothing is impossible.’”

Of her relationship with Rocky, “We’re best friends with a baby,” she told Vogue. “We have to be on the same page, but we’ve always kind of had that in our relationship.” She added, “Everything changes when you have a baby, but I wouldn’t say it’s done anything but made us closer.”
