Tonight, at the 95th Academy Awards, there was no shortage of full glam. Stars strutted down the red carpet with major beauty moments that we must discuss, from Cara Delevingne’s sultry smokey eye that will make you want to pick up an eye-shadow palette stat to exquisite updos like Danai Gurira’s towering topknot and Florence Pugh’s side-swept pony. Below, the biggest beauty moments of tonight’s red carpet that stole the show.

Coolest Updo: Danai Gurira

What better way to shut down a carpet than to wear a four-tiered textured bun slicked back to perfection? To tie the look together, Gurira topped off her towering topknot with a bedazzled accessory. Of the look, she said, “This is my African self coming out here, a tribute to the African women who wear things on their heads with astounding poise.”

Best Ponytail … With a Twist: Florence Pugh

The twist is quite literal. Pugh’s hairstyle could easily be mistaken for swooped bangs or a funky updo, but it actually was a ponytail pinned to the front, which gave the illusion of a bang. Nothing screams “red carpet” like taking a traditional style and making it your own.

Best Red Lip: Rihanna

During every red carpet, there is a winner for the best red lip. Tonight, Rihanna takes the crown. We’re not really surprised because a bold red lip with blue undertones is almost like a uniform for her at this point, as with this year’s Super Bowl, which made Fenty Beauty’s velvet liquid lipstick in the shade MVP go viral on TikTok. Tonight, Rih owned the color red. Her signature lip shade paired perfectly with her poppy blush and complementary nails.

Most Voluminous Curls: Angela Bassett

Bassett definitely “did the thing” on the carpet with these head-turning curls that make me want to go practice in the mirror with my hot tools. Loose and voluminous curls are hard to get right, but her stylist, Randy Stodhill, achieved them with Olivia Garden’s SuperHP hair dryer. To complete her glam, she wore Chanel Beauty makeup, including a romantic rosy blush, a look inspired by “femininity, passion, and allure.”

Beachiest Waves: Halle Berry

Leave it to Berry to show up to the red carpet with a sassy short cut. Tonight’s waves effortlessly framed her face.

Eye Shadow I’m Trying Immediately: Cara Delevingne

Delevigne’s sultry red shadow on the hood of her eye and her under-eye added an edgy glam to her red gown. It paired extremely well with her pink lip.

Best Glam, Period: Tems

It’s the icy-blue eye shadow, dark-lined lips, and slicked back hair for me. This look was pure perfection with her angelic white avant-garde gown. Tems showed us exactly how to attend your first-ever Grammys.

Glowiest Glow: Halle Bailey

This must be the Little Mermaid glow. Halle Bailey was a beam of light on the carpet. Do you see the body shimmer on her décolleté? Enough said.
