Dua Lipa is serving Chanel bride in white and tweed on the Met Gala red carpet. Lipa is a co-chair for the gala and was one of the first guests to appear on the carpet in a Chanel fall 1992 haute couture dress by Karl Lagerfeld. “It’s been on all my mood boards,” Lipa said on the red carpet. “It’s very, very special.”
The sharp-curved bustier and bubble-skirt dress was originally modeled by Lagerfeld’s muse Claudia Schiffer on the runway. The dress ends with imperfect raw trimmed and elongated fringe that not only lengthens the skirt but gives it an edgy character. The dress was originally worn with a floral hat, but Lipa instead paired hers with a very large Tiffany & Co. diamond. “This little thing,” she joked on the red carpet. “I’m very lucky I get to showcase it at the Met Gala.”
