Lakers player Tristan Thompson is known as much for repeatedly cheating on Khloé Kardashian as he is for his basketball career. Weird, then, to see not one, not two, but three members of her family sitting in the stands for his most recent playoff game.
Kendall Jenner attended Game 6 against the Warriors with Bad Bunny in matching snakeskin boots while Kim Kardashian sat courtside with her daughter North West. The mother and daughter brought a seemingly homemade sign with Tristan’s name, and North even rocked a jersey with Thompson’s number (9) on it.
The Skims founder has attended several playoff games this month, and her presence initially sparked speculation about whether she’s dating a Lakers player. A friend of hers reportedly told TMZ that she is “absolutely not,” claiming she’s just a big fan of her hometown team. Apparently Kardashian’s friend Sarah Staudinger and her husband, Ari Emanuel, who is Kim’s agent, have great courtside seats, and this is how they catch up. And sure, maybe — but some wonder whether Kim’s sudden omnipresence could be a sign that Khloé and Thompson are back together.
Since 2016, the public has been subjected to Khloé and Tristan’s on-again, off-again relationship, which has been marred by Thompson’s repeated infidelity. The couple last broke up in the summer of 2021; a few months later, Thompson admitted that he was the father of Maralee Nichols’s newborn baby, meaning he had once again cheated on Khloé while they were still together. A few months later, it was revealed that Khloé and Thompson were expecting a second child via surrogate, who would have been conceived before it came out that Thompson had cheated with Nichols.
But this week, Khloé appeared to shut down speculation that Kim has been soft-launching the couple’s reunion. “Stop pushing this narrative,” Khloé wrote in the comments on an Instagram post alleging that she and Tristan were back together. “Some things are just as simple as they seem. A family member supporting another family member ESPECIALLY during a difficult time in life.” It’s true that Kim has shown consistent support for the man who repeatedly dogged her sister, recently wishing him a happy birthday on Instagram and bringing him to a Friendsgiving dinner at a detention center. All that said, three Lakers games in one week seems like a lot?
