Today, Pharrell Williams showed his debut Louis Vuitton men’s collection at Paris Fashion Week. (He took over after Virgil Abloh died in 2021 but first collaborated with the brand nearly 20 years ago on sunglasses with his friend and Billionaire Boys Club partner, Nigo.) The collection featured Minecraft-inspired prints, the “lovers” logo (Pharell is from Virginia Beach, where “Virginia Is for Lovers”), checkered bags in all shapes and sizes, and oh so many hats. But more on that later — our fashion critic, Cathy Horyn, was at the show and will review it.
Last week, Pharrell posted a large billboard unveiling his first campaign featuring Rihanna, who tonight watched from the front row, showing off her pregnant belly in a jumpsuit from the collection. Next to her was A$AP Rocky wearing a full look from the collection. (If we could pick one thing to buy from the collection, it would be the jumpsuit. And yes, it’s because Queen Rih wore it.)
The celebrity guests didn’t stop at Rih and Rocky. Also in attendance were Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Kim Kardashian, Brazilian singer Anitta, Zendaya (who is now an LV girlie with Law Roach by her side), Lewis Hamilton, Naomi Campbell, Maluma, Lenny Kravitz, LeBron and Savannah James, Megan Thee Stallion, Jackson Wang, and Coi Leray.
Industry veteran Anita Britton, who cast the show, even included some famous people as models (like Pusha T and designer Stefano Pilati) and New York City–famous fixtures like Hugo Mendoza of Awake, Hank Korsan, and photographer Cam Hicks.
We can’t wait to see what Pharrell does next. In the meantime, enjoy these looks. We are partial to Pilati in the scrunchie socks and loafers.
