It has rained nearly every weekend in NYC this October, but that hasn’t put a damper on the parties. If you’re staying home and staying dry, you can always enjoy the fashion from the sidelines. This week: All the cool kids partied with Coperni and Nordstrom, bundled up with Moncler, and sipped Champagne with Saks Fifth Avenue. These are the best looks.
Best LBD: Alex Consani
In celebration of cool-kid brand Coperni’s pop-up at Nordstrom, the brand’s designers, Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant, alongside Nordstrom’s fashion director, Rickie De Sole, hosted a dinner. Clad in their signature cutout dresses, guests like actress Leyna Bloom, model Consani, and artist Chloe Wise dined on Raf’s dishes. The pop-up will be in-store and online featuring pieces like the signature top-handle bag, a 3-D floral-detail gown, and a cutout leather jacket.
Best Shoulders: Janet Jackson
We love an exaggerated silhouette, and so do Thom Browne and Jackson. To celebrate 20 years of the brand and a newly launched monograph, the stars gathered at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum clad in the brand’s signature gray suiting.
Best Group Shot
Mercedes-Benz Sustainability Prize winner Petra Fagerstrom posed with Mercedes executive Julia Hofmann and her winning design at the 38th Festival d’Hyères.
Best Use of Color: Helena Christensen
Red is the color of the moment, and model Christensen was ahead of the trend at The RealReal’s dinner celebrating Consign Commitment for National Consignment Month.
Best Blazer: Kelly Rowland
All the stars in L.A. came out for interior designer Brigette Romanek’s party celebrating her new book, Livable Luxe. While we’re sure the event was beautifully decorated, it was also full of well-dressed guests like Rowland.
Best Fall Fit: Beverly Nguyen
Everyone celebrating the Moncler x Adidas Originals Collection with Saks Fifth Avenue and V magazine brought their warmest outfits to Nine Orchard’s Greenhouse Penthouse, including best-dressed guest Nguyen.
Best Bob: Lucy Liu
The actress joined Saks Fifth Avenue and Brunello Cucinelli at L’Avenue at Saks to celebrate the brand’s takeover with a dinner. She also embraced the haircut of the moment. Anyone else want to make a trip to the salon?
Best Coat: Mary J. Blige
The singer treated attendees at God’s Love We Deliver’s Golden Heart Awards to a surprise performance in the only outfit we’d expect from her: full-length fur and thigh-high boots. We’re anxiously awaiting the day she announces a line of footwear.
Best Duo: Ziwe & Emily Ratajkowski
Besties and authors Ziwe and EmRata gathered on The Standard, East Village rooftop to celebrate the launch of Ziwe’s Black Friend: Essays. (The Cut has a peek into the book for you here.)
Best Knits: Yaminah Mayo & Tyler Joe
Wearing some pretty enviable knitwear, Mayo and Joe struck a pose at Gant’s party celebrating the Ssense exclusive 240 Mulberry Street collection.
Best Selfie: Jazzelle Zanaughtti
Rihanna’s muse looked effortlessly cool while she took a selfie at Le Pére’s Lower East Side store opening.
Best Duo: Georgiana Huddart & Helena Christensen
Celebrating their latest collab, Christensen struck a pose again in the color of the moment with Hunza G founder Georgiana Huddart at Nine Orchard.
