If there is one constant in this life, it’s that Keanu Reeves is nice to look at.

First, there’s his outline: Tall (six-foot-one) but not enormous, with solid shoulders and nicely sized hands. He’s handsome, with substantial, smooth hair you want to run your fingers through, and a scruffy beard that’s also somehow not bad. If you’ve seen him on-screen, you know that his face contains multitudes. Whether it’s his gentle smile and puppy-dog eyes in Something’s Gotta Give, or his brooding “let’s do this” face in The Matrix, one look into the camera is enough to make you clutch your chest. Like all the best actors, Keanu is emotive, but never exaggerates. You trust that he’s feeling whatever his character is feeling, which is why it’s so easy for audiences to feel so many feels too.

This extends into real life. Paparazzi photos of Keanu are the *chef’s kiss* of the genre. His earnestness — his emphatic hand gestures, his relaxed posture and appearance, the excitement and existential exhaustion he seems to feel from simply being alive — is what makes him so relatable and also so exhilarating to behold. He is simultaneously every single one of us, but also singularly Keanu Reeves.

Here, we’ve culled photos of Keanu Reeves just because. You can see him smiling, looking deep in thought, and doing things with his hands. No one does it better.
