Before I buy something new, I think about a couple of things: where I would wear it and how I would incorporate it into my wardrobe so I don’t stare at something with the tags still on it and feel bad. This Simone Rocha cotton-poplin shirt fills a hole in my closet — the work-to-going-out shirt. I can even wear it over a bathing suit in the summer. Plus, the puffed sleeves give it a little razzle-dazzle. —Joanna Nikas, deputy style editor

I admittedly am not a sweater-vest girl, but I do aspire to be. This is the one I want to start with: Marni’s technicolor chunky knit sweater of my dreams, now at 50 percent off. —J.N.

Alix NYC has been doing bodysuits since before bodysuits were a thing. This one doesn’t give us the cold shoulder. —J.N.

You’ll instantly be the life of the party when you walk into a room in these. (There’s also a matching top for when you’re the host.) —Emilia Petrarca, senior fashion writer

I’m convinced that midi skirts will be a trend this spring, so I’m planning ahead. —E.P.

This is a very good deal on a hot, hot designer. —E.P.

I refuse to buy exercise gear at full price, and the cuter the set, the more I actually do want to work out. So I’ll be purchasing some sportswear basics like these Girlfriend Collective leggings, sports bra, and shell jacket. Knowing that I wear my workout clothes into the ground, I feel better about buying from a more sustainable brand that recycles its materials. —Brooke Marine, deputy culture editor

These aren’t for working out, but I’ve been wanting a pair of Nike Air Huaraches for a while. I’m not a sneakerhead, but I feel like I need something other than my usual black Nike Air Maxes or white Adidas Stan Smiths to wear next spring. This is a cute colorway I haven’t seen before. —B.M.

You can never have enough pairs of black leather ankle boots. I love the hardware details on these, the chunky block heel, and the slightly square toe. In my eyes, they look very different from my other black boots. —Chinea Rodriguez, shopping writer

I live in black T-shirts and tank tops year-round, so it’s nice to switch it up just a little bit. This looks and feels like your basic tank top with a twist. —C.R.

There’s just something so effortlessly powerful about wide-leg jeans. I’ve been eyeing this pair from Margiela for a while so was happy to snag them on supersale. Perfect for chunky boots or strappy heels, these jeans will be easy to slip on with almost anything in my closet to instantly elevate a look. —Maya Allen, beauty director at large

I’m branching out from my Uniqlo Heattech turtlenecks to this scrumptious mesh one from MM6 Maison Margiela. —Bianca Nieves, senior shopping editor

It’s not a two-in-one deal since you can’t use the skirt on its own, but this piece from JW Anderson still has my heart. It’ll definitely make winter layering easier and chicer. —B.N.

I love a good oversize vintage blazer, yet I particularly love how this one from Ganni cinches at the waist. —B.N.

I was on the hunt for a pair of heels to wear on New Year’s Eve that wouldn’t kill my feet. These kitten heels from By Far are the winners. —B.N.
