Philosopher-hunk Ryan Lochte recently shared his diet with Bon Appétit, and it’s just as intense as you would expect from someone training for the Olympics: The swimmer puts down anywhere from 7,000 to 8,000 calories per day. What’s surprising is that, along with his carbo-loading and infamous pizza-and-wings cheat days, Lochte is getting into lifestyle Instagram-food territory.
For instance, while describing something he often eats for breakfast, he explained, “You get a piece of toast and then you put some avocado, mushed up avocado, and you spread it on the bread.”
But avocado toast seems to be where he draws the line, so keep your spiralizer away from Lochte. “Instead of regular pasta, I had this cucumber pasta,” he says. “I was just like, oooh, when I saw it, I was like, ‘Yeah, I’m probably going to vomit from this. This doesn’t look good. Where’s my other pasta?’”
A question for the ages, Ryan.
