The Fab Life: Backstage at Erin FetherstonErin Fetherston showed at Bryant Park last night, and our Fabiola Beracasa was backstage to see the calamity before the designer’s fantasy collection debuted.
Special Moments Backstage at Sean JohnWe had a lot of downtime backstage at the Sean John show, which gave us a good chance to hang out with the male models and drink Bellinis (we know, life is hard). Nearby was a makeshift “stage”: bright lights and a backdrop, evidently where Diddy had been doing his interviews earlier.

Get the Look: Bobbi Brown at Brian ReyesNew York beauty editor Aja Magnum ventured backstage at the Brian Reyes show, where beauty legend Bobbi Brown was hard at work, creating an outdoorsy, sporty look for girls who’ve been out and about in the country. Think gently flushed cheeks, powdery tones, and windswept brows — yes, even your brows can get windswept. Watch and learn.

At G-Star Raw, Good Denim Makes for Good AssIf there’s one thing you need to know about G-Star jeans, it’s that they make your ass look good. Or that was the consensus among the attendees at the G-Star Raw show, from Tyson Beckford to Damien Fahey to Duran Duran, who went as far as to note that the denim even makes “your other bits look good.” In this backstage video, reporter Jada Yuan surveys the crowd’s collective bottom, makes notes of Ryan Adams’s $20 shoes, and catches Dennis Hopper’s freaky runway narration. Click to watch.

Video: Resurrecting the Flapper Backstage at Monique LhuillierNew York’s Jada Yuan took cameras backstage at Monique Lhuillier to capture the preparations for the designer’s flapper-inspired show. The makeup artist sought “poetic glamour” with you guessed it a smoky eye. The hairstylist nixed short-haired girls. And the designer herself had a preshow freak-out that lasted five days. Watch the video to see the drama for yourself.

John Varvatos Likes His Male Models TipsyWalking backstage at John Varvatos’s show at the top of 7 World Trade Center last night, we were a little taken aback to see some 30 high-cheekboned man-children throwing back Peronis and Champagne.

Max Azria Draws Out Brittany Murphy’s Lifetime of HurtWe may have borne inadvertent witness to a catharsis of sorts for twig-size actress Brittany Murphy. At Monday evening’s Max Azria show, we caught sight of Murphy — the first celebrity to wander out from backstage after photographers waited for about 40 minutes — refusing an interview with one gossip-magazine reporter by placing her hand gently on the girl’s arm and intoning, “Not for that magazine. Your magazine HURT. MY. LIFE.”

Jennifer Missoni, Sophia Bush Backstage at Catherine MalandrinoNew York fashion correspondent Fabiola Beracasa took our cameras backstage at Catherine Malandrino today. At just one show, Fabiola gets her hair done, spies someone wearing her dress (scandalous!), talks politics with Jennifer Missoni, chats with Sophia Bush from One Tree Hill, and learns about the designer’s love for the color green. Watch the video to see the mayhem.

Fabiola Beracasa Talks Preen and Patent Leather With Cathy Horyn, Leigh Lezark, and Arden WohlLondon label Preen is showing at the New York tents for only the second time this season, but designers Thea Bregazzi and Justin Thornton have already attracted a savvy fan base that includes New York Times critic Cathy Horyn and downtown personality Leigh Lezark, who both talked to Fabiola Beracasa before the show. “They went from being very funky in the beginning, and now they’re much more put together,” Horyn explained, while Arden Wohl talked about her obsession with patent leather. Tragic Socialite Olivia Palermo Ventures Out at Preen! The Preen show Saturday afternoon felt a bit sparsely attended — perhaps everyone was at home fussing over their onion dip and hot wings in preparation for the Super Bowl?

Fabiola Finds the Flaws at Alexander Wang With Chanel Iman and Jaime KingAs the music blasted backstage at Alexander Wang, Fabiola Beracasa caught up with model Jaime King, fashion editor Meredith Fisher, a very soft-spoken Chanel Iman, and the designer himself (“Did I mention he’s cute?” said Paper’s Mr. Mickey). Wang talked about his edgy aesthetic as “something that’s a little bit loose and baggy. Own it. It doesn’t have to fit in every little place. It’s all about the flaws and imperfections.”

Celebs in Danger: Models With Guns at Rock & RepublicIt’s a bad sign that the first thing we wondered while trying to make our way into the Rock & Republic show tonight was, “Is this the new Heatherette?” The answer is not quite, if only because the show didn’t feature the campy deliciousness of assless pants.

Tyra Banks and Vivica A. Fox Speak On the Fabulosity of KimoraAmid the usual chaos backstage at Baby Phat, Jada Yuan managed to catch up with not only label designer Kimora Lee Simmons, but also Tyra Banks, Robert Verdi, Star Jones, and Vivica A. Fox, who each testified to Kimora’s “fabulosity,” as Fox put it. “Kimora is big, she’s over-the-top, she’s a grande dame,” said Banks; “she taught me ‘off the hook’ and ‘off the chain’ — and the chain is actually diamonds, when it’s Kimora’s chain,” added Verdi. Indeed. Watch the video for more.

Baby Phat Invents ‘Understated Bling’Only at Baby Phat could black-on-black nails embellished with black crystals be considered low-key. But as Creative Nail Design co-founder Jan Arnold explained backstage before the show, Kimora Lee Simmons decided to go with an “understated bling” look this year. Now there’s a contradiction. New York Magazine Beauty Editor Aja Mangum also caught up with MAC’s Nadine Luke, who expanded further on the show’s makeup theme — “it’s 1920s but a modern 1920s, so instead of a flapper girl, she’s a flippin’ girl.” Watch the video to see the nails and the makeup close up.
