Pssst! Fur Fashion Week Is Going On Right NowFur Fashion Week is lying pretty low this year, but it takes place today and tomorrow. Chris Benz won an award for emerging fur designer, and Michael Kors, Isaac Mizrahi, and Peter Som will show.
You Go, Minka Kelly! We were surprised when we spotted Minka Kelly — who plays Friday Night Lights’ resident Jesus freak, Lyla — sitting front row at the Doo.Ri show yesterday for two reasons.
Irina Kulikova Is Monday’s Top ModelMonday was a mixed bag of no-brainer casting and compelling new faces. Runway veteran Anja Rubik lead the Oscar show. But Anna Gushina, who just debuted at Prada in September, generated significant buzz by winning Proenza Schouler’s coveted first spot.

Five Things We Liked on Monday
1. Put a feather in your cap (or tweed hat!) at Carolina Herrera.
2. Look No. 2 at Proenza Schouler, the purple layered dress with ocher tights and bright teal suede pumps color-block heaven!
Raquel Zimmermann Is Friday’s Top Model
It’s day three of the model walk-off and things are getting heated. Missy Rayder gets an honorable mention for one helluva comeback, popping up in the amazing Proenza show. Let’s hear it for the Americans! But top honors go to Brazilian stunner Raquel Zimmerman, whose first opening show this season was also at Proenza. Jack and Lazaro know how to pick them. We can’t argue with that.

Backstage at Doo.Ri, Jada Yuan finds stylists who must make the latecomers look like the other models, even when there’s no time to curl hair. “I am pushed by the wind!” one exclaimed. Designer Doori Chung’s collection picks up where she left off last spring, she said: “the idea of a dress enveloping over oneself.”

Fashion Report Card: Lam, Doo.Ri, Rodriguez, Roi Savaged by Angry CriticsAfter rolling over for the big names — Marc Jacobs, Carolina Herrera, Oscar de la Renta, and Diane von Furstenberg all got raves — the critics sharpen their talons on the second tier of designers who haven’t quite made it to the major leagues yet. Who exactly did Derek over-reference? Can they take away Doo.Ri’s CFDA award? And is Narciso just bored?

three is a trend
Touch of GrayThere’s nothing ambiguous about one of fall’s biggest breaking trends: gray eye shadow. Doo.Ri complemented intricate updos with striking smoky eyes lined in black with shades of sparkling silver. Alice Roi’s sultry, ashen style dipped the shadow beneath the eyes. Toni Maticevski pushed the trend the furthest, slathering his models’ eyebrows and temples with gray powder. With so many designers opting for pale faces, these shots of gray add a much-needed touch of color, so to speak.
