Fabiola Beracasa Talks Preen and Patent Leather With Cathy Horyn, Leigh Lezark, and Arden WohlLondon label Preen is showing at the New York tents for only the second time this season, but designers Thea Bregazzi and Justin Thornton have already attracted a savvy fan base that includes New York Times critic Cathy Horyn and downtown personality Leigh Lezark, who both talked to Fabiola Beracasa before the show. “They went from being very funky in the beginning, and now they’re much more put together,” Horyn explained, while Arden Wohl talked about her obsession with patent leather. Wang talked about his edgy aesthetic as “something that’s a little bit loose and baggy. Own it. It doesn’t have to fit in every little place. It’s all about the flaws and imperfections.”

9 a.m. Woke up to Vera Wang and Calvin Klein garment bags for the shows tomorrow. But I had to try on the looks later, as I had Michael Kors at 10 a.m. and an interview with the Palm Beach Post (for CIRCA) to do before that!

9:30 a.m. Met with my makeup artist Alexa at my home. She does her thing, and then at 11 a.m. I ran to the J.Mendel showroom to pick out a look for the show on Thursday. The Japanese magazine Glamorous came along to shoot me for their fashion story.

9 a.m. I was on an important phone call at work and watching the clock tick-tocking towards 10 a.m. I realized I was going to miss the Carolina Herrera show! Boo-hoo for Fab.

On Saturday, I was sent two bags full of Rock & Republic jeans (which I love) to wear to the show. I tried on about ten pairs until I finally decided on jean shorts and black tights. I went to the show with two of my close friends from London — Camilla Al-Fayed and Jamie Diner. The show started very late, and it was well, let’s just say we had fun.
12:30 a.m. We all went to Bungalow 8 where we met up with basically all of New York! We hung out until 4 a.m., and then we all went home to get some much-needed sleep.

9:30 a.m. I arrived in my office.
10 a.m. I met with an editor from a Japanese magazine called Glamorous. She wanted to shoot me during Fashion Week, so we agreed to have the camera crew come to a fitting at J. Mendel on Tuesday and also to shoot me at home on Thursday morning.

11:30 a.m. I went to the BCBG/Max Azria showroom to pick out cute outfits to wear to the shows. Lubov Azria, BCBG’s creative director, was so wonderful she gave me a sneak preview of the runway looks. It was exciting to get the inside scoop. What an honor!
